ReCrEaTiOn was my major..

..Now I'm starting to regret the switch.
Today in my Recreation class (which is my hardest class, not a joke..), my teacher Mr. Steve Langsner, a great and funny man who reminds me of Pluto (the dog) with a mustache started talking about tattoos. Then he made this comment:
"These 17 & 18 year old girls go and get a cute little butterfly on the breast.. what they don't realize is that by the time they're 80 that butterfly will be a pterodactyl!"
(pterodactyl = tear-uh-dack-tl) ((I had to look it up, too.))

(I don't really regret the switch, though.)

this has got to get funnier.

GOSH JG DRIVES ME NUTS!
I basically just had this conversation:

JG- "So I was checking the stats from my blog and a lot of me readers come from the link on your blog, so thanks ha."
ME- "how do you do that?!"
JG- explains and says "so yeah, I'll have 3000 views this month."
        ME- "Shutup."
        JG- "Totes seriously."

I took a couple things away from this.
1. Blogs have stats?
2. People check the stats? (JG)
3. People come to my blog? (Aw, shucks!)
4. JG has 3,000 views just this month?
5. PEOPLE, STOP VISITING HIS BLOG. JUST DON'T DO IT.
6. "Totes seriously?"

Friday:
Taylor Derr was in Fayetteville for an obligatory visit. It was really good to see her eyebrows again and get to hangout with her. "I'm starting to think I'm literally saying no to the voice of God." We got to see our campers, too. They are hilarious and weird and I miss them so much!

Saturday:
After sitting at the KD house eating bowl after bowl of cereal, I went to Lake Fayetteville with some friends. We went and played a lil' frizbee and enjoyed the 70ish-felt-like-90-degree weather. Then we decided it would be a really good idea to movie hop. So, we had our two movies picked out and only 40 minutes to drive back, change, go to walmart for funny water (? Macy and Jordan), and get to the movie and have good seats. Needless to say, this did not happen. (Oops.) Instead, we gave ourselves a good 2 hours to complete our to-do list. (Plus, we had to watch some Front Row. Best Mac App EVER! Anyway, we went to movie one: "Red Riding Hood."I can't tell you how excited I was for this movie. It looked so promising, the trailer looked really edgy and cool, and the soundtrack seemed great, it was a twist on a well-known story, and it was directed by Catherine Hardwicke who also directed Twilight. (Not the best movie, I know, but I liked her style!) Well, this movie can go one step beneath Twilight, complete with it's own "Spider-Monkey" line: "I could eat you up." WOW... WOOOOWWWWWW. So, of course we decided to top the night off with the 12am showing of "Beastly." To sum this movie up, I'll just say that it was better than "Red Riding Hood." SHOCKING. (Mary-Kate Olsen=awesome.) So, after seeing the worst two movies I've seen in a long time, we start walking to Solomon. (My subaru, duh.) Mmm, burrito smeared on my window. True story, as usual.

DON'T GO TO JG'S BLOG.
I'll start posting his new entries on here so you can still "enjoy" them without him getting the self-satisfaction he feels when his lil' views go up.

I'm not as funny as him, but I'm way more humble.
(^see!)

7 machines.

Disclaimer: Taylor Derr would be a really great roommate and it would be a total dream come true if our beds were the same size.

So.. on move in day, back on 8/16/10, there were these pictures hanging around Reid of our "future workout room." Gosh, that made for a dorm full of excited girls! Well, 6ish months later we have inspirational razorback walls, tinted windows, a big mirror, and seven workout machines!

As I was walking back to Reid with a few friends, I paused and gawked at some handle bars that I could see through the windows. I knew they belonged to something that makes you sweat. I mean, literally stopped walking and pointed in the way a mother would be ashamed. As in.. if my arm had been a blade, I would have decapitated my two friends. After a few "Jill, what the heck!?" "Ugh.. what!?" remarks they finally followed my gaze and rested their eyes upon those mysterious handle bars. They knew, too. So Annie decides to let out a nice, loud scream. Like.. as in someone has just popped out of the bushes with a chainsaw type scream, and proceeds to run into Reid toward the workout room.

Another surprise! There is a door to the room now! There wasn't before. Unfortunately, there is a sign on the door that says "Not done. Don't even try to enter." At least that's the jist of it.

Then we explore the new lil' kitchen. There's a new door from the kitchen (aka stove) to the "play room." It's really fancy (the door, I mean), like.. Maple Hill fancy. Requires a FOB fancy. So we try to FOB in. Fail.

Way to be a tease, Reid.

peace, love, and just because.

this is what dreams are made of.

Such strange dreams lately.

I'm really not the type to think about/remember my dreams, but lately I have been.. I found this one especially entertaining for some reason:

Taylor Derr and I, (only she didn't have red hair so how can I be sure it was her!?) were at some place watching people in the most normal way possible. If I had to guess I'd say it was a small, local concert or something. After it was over, we were immediately just walking down this sketch hallway to an apartment/dorm room or something that we lived in. (Roommates= Nightmare.) Anyway, we were walking in to our lil' place saying we wished we were as cool as those people. So, naturally, I sit down at my computer and google/facebook something about being cooler, and the not red-head Taylor Derr of my dream goes "I'm cool now.. My name is Natalie Freakin' Portman."

really, arkansas?

First, I knew Thursday was going to be a good day when I was walking with my iPod, (which I never do, honestly.. 2nd time ever), and Celine Dion came on. I mean, life is good when she's singing "That's The Way It Is." It was a great day.
Also: We had a FOAM function. Just.. imagine. Two sororities, one fraternity, and foam coming from the ceiling. That's all the description you need.

Now Friday, I knew it was going to be an interesting day when I woke up to a few "sorry for partying texts." (Really.. that's all they said.) It was an interesting day.. I was completely delirious with only 10ish hours of sleep in two days. So anyway, after a 3 hour nap that afternoon I was thoroughly confused about what day it was, and was left to decide what I would do with the rest of the night. So many options, but I decided to go to the last home gymnastics meet. (I'm obsessed and it's terrible because I don't even know a gymnast.) Anyway, it was about 6:45 and Catherine and I decided yes to the gymnastics meet, so we debated walking or driving. We decided to walk. When we got to the lobby a few girls were like "Ah, it's pouring outside, ahhh!" It wasn't.. I mean really, like.. no rain. So we're like.. HA! Typical sorority girls.. anyway, we're walking on this sidewalk that basically has nothing around it but trees, and it's lightening a whole lot. I think I said something about how awesome thunder is. (I missed it, it seems like I haven't heard it in Arkansas except for the past two weeks..) This is where the "really, Arkansas?" comes in. Let me tell you about this weather: it keeps you on your toes. As in: blizzard to 60 degrees, to rain and tornado warnings, to earthquakes, to 65 degrees to MONSOON. We're walking, and all of a sudden there is the scariest flash of lightening I have ever witnessed, so of course I just go "Wow.. ahaha." But I hear this loud shriek, as in like.. someone is grabbing you and dragging you to the pits of doom or something equally as terrifying.. and I look over at Catherine like "what the heck is the matter with you? It was scary, but not THAT scary, dang embarrassing!" That's when this random girl comes out of NOWHERE behind us and is like "Sorry, that seriously just scared the s*** out of me!" and kept walking past us. I could not figure out what she was talking about because I was too busy thinking of all the ways I could be struck by lightening and where the world she came from. Anyway, all of a sudden it starts pouring.. I'm talking more than cats and dogs.. I'm talking like.. elephants and giant squids or something like that! Luckily we're in the pit so I'm all like "Haha.. It's okay, we'll just drive my car!!!!" Too bad I have no idea where I parked, so we wander around for a good 5 minutes in a parking lot that is half empty. I hate that because I'm always the person who is like "How do you not remember where you parked, ugh!" Nice, Jill. Anyway, we finally find it and get in the car soaking wet. That's when I find out that random girl is the one who screamed for her life and that gets me a good 5 minutes of painful laughter.
Then we went to the gymnastics meet, had an awkward run-in with one of the mascots, and tried to air dry kind of only not at all. But those gymbacks won, so worth it.

That's really all I got.

Here's some inspiration from us to you:

Tuhdae:

Today my future roomie and I decided to be roomies. It's official because we pinky swore and side hugged while sitting down. BIG DEAL. Then, we decided to walk to the Greek Theater to hangout for a little while. On our way there, we realized we were basically the equivalent of celebrities to a large group of elementary school kids visiting UARK for a field trip. This continued while they ate their lunch and we hungout in the GT. (Greek Theater, duh.) Ego booster. I was definitely confident the rest of the day!

Tonight I went and saw "Beware of Christians" with a few.. christians. We had a great time telling awful jokes on the way there (not religious), then had a really great time walking through the union telling everyone to "BEWARE! ..There are christians!" Anyway, it was really good and definitely an eye-opener. Don't worry, I have a DVD of it and I'm pretty sure I stole it, what?! Just kidding. Apparently they email us and we pay later.. something about Arkansas being great and not allowing anyone to charge us cashmoney. Dang you, internet. You make everything possible. (I'm kidding.. I'll pay!)

I did this today:
Better be ready for THAT to arrive in the mail. It's the new thang I do.. I just decided.

peace, love and beware.

a lilbit diff!

I'm terrible at keeping up, so this calls for change.

Something I've been trying to do since the beginning of the year is write down what makes me smile every day, (aka something ridiculous I've witnessed, experienced, or was told about..) It doesn't sound hard.. lots of things make me smile.. but it's so hard to remember! Anyway, I've got the ones 1/1/11-2/27/11 in a lil' notebook, so here's 2/28/11:

-Today, I had to go spend $30 on food. Sounds like a perfectly enjoyable experience, only it wasn't. Since I am a really smart girl who remembers everything, I forgot I was supposed to go to the Lady Razorback Basketball game yesterday, after all.. I AM a "Lenora." Instead, I took what I thought was my completely unplanned day and went to the ranch. Except for too bad the game was on my calendar for a month ("W. BBALL - 2"). Too bad I planned my entire weekend with my Mom around that dang game. Too bad I made plans to walk to the game with friends the day before. Too bad I chose to go to a place 45 minutes away. Too bad that place has absolutely no cell phone service. (I take that part back.. PTL it has no cell service!)  So anyway, in order to get off bad standing with KD and go to our function on Thursday. Our function with XO. Our first function with XO in years. The function that my roommate, neighbors, and friends are in.. So, I just had to go spend those $30. What has sorority life done to me!?

It's okay though.. The food is going toward a good cause, right?

ps-
(The MOMENT IN THE LIFE OF.. will be back whenever I can remember to put them on here......)

A MOMENT IN THE LIFE.. OF JUSTIN PIGEON & DAVE ABBOTT, TATIANA DEMURO, TAYLOR DERR &AMY SANDERS.. AGAIN!

justin pigeon:

Justin Pigeon is one cool kid: as in.. a real person.. like a human. (Not the bird, I just didn't have a picture with him.. okay, I did.. but it was this:
Anyway, I was a SOMA with him last summer and worked with him on staff at the ranch this summer. He's really great! So, there is this game called SAFARI that we play at the ranch. Counselor paint themselves to be animals and most kids run away terrified.. Most videos you see of the game show just that; however, in this lil' gem is the Pigeon attacking an elephant, the elephant coming after him (naturally), and a kid standing his ground.. ouch!

summer sunday 2010:

dave abbott & tatiana demuro & taylor derr & amy sanders:

whoa, quadruple-whammy!

This is my friend Dave Abbott, he is really great and has dvd-things and cool business cards. (Employers: Consider hiring him for some grown-up job until the end of May, please!) Shameful plug.. Anyway, Dave really is very talented with video-tography.. and he's also just a really great friend!

Tati! T is real, real wonderful. Like, the girl has great hair, quite a laugh, a sweet car, lives in cali and never wears shoes.. anywhere. DOES IT GET BETTER THAN THAT?!

Taylor Derr.. we went to cali together to visit T! She's great.. gotta love those orange eyebrows.
Amy Sanders.. again. She's really great, I really could say lots of nice things about her.. so I will: lots of nice things about her. Anyway, if there were regulars for being on this here blog- she'd be one!

end of summer 2010:

Now, I realize a lot happened in the clip, and really fast! So, here's a lil' play by play:
Dave: I steal his camera. Story of his life.
T: She's whining. Story of her life.
Taylor: Listen for the "byEEEEEE!" Story of her life.
Amy: She is awkward and then almost falls right at the end. Story of her life.

love the story of their lives.

A MOMENT IN THE LIFE.. OF JOHN GRANT..

john grant:
This is John Grant. He's hardcore pursuing me. (^Obviously.)
I'm super hesitant to put him in my blog because he already has his own and I think it's giving him a pretty big ego, but that's alright I guess. He's just gonna do what he wants. ..and that's his intro.  (I just don't want to flatter him too much.) But really- awesome guy. Forealz.

A MOMENT IN THE LIFE.. OF AMY SANDERS.. AGAIN!

amy sanders:
Yup, Amy Sanders.. again! This girl is such an awesome hog that it's ridiculous. She doesn't even get another nice little intro, so if you want to get to know her.. scroll down! I will say something about this picture, however- Yes, I am frisking a tree, but it's all part of the cute little Get To Know You Game we were playing. But let me tell you what was NOT apart of that cute little game- HER LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT! Gosh... creeper.

Norman, OK- October 5th:

"I get out of class and go to get my bike. There's a guy getting his bike, which is right next to mine. I wait. He's taking a long time. Turns out I locked my bike to his. AWKWARD. Anyway, I am barely riding for two seconds when the chain comes off my bike. Which means this stupid kid sees me coming right at him. I try warning him, and he freaking freezes on the spot. Which means I HIT HIM. That's right. I ran into a person with my bike. Not a bush but a freaking human being. Beautiful."

A MOMENT IN THE LIFE.. OF SARAH MOORE..

sarah moore:
You see that little brunette girl in the right hand corner of the picture? (I mean the picture I'm holding duh.) Well, that's my roommate. Her name is Sarah Moore and because we absolutely loathe being in the same room for any amount of time, we don't have a single picture together. So, in order to make this post possible, I had to creepily steal the GREATEST picture in my, I mean.. our room- that one. Anyway, we've been miserable, I mean.. lived together for a few weeks now, and since then a few funny things have happened.. AKA- I have 6 stories on my sweet lil' college dry-erase board that I need to post up here. Pace yourself, kids. Only a couple at a time.
(She's actually a pretty great roommate; clean, super entertaining, almost normal.)

Fayetteville, AR- August 15th:

So, it's move in day. We just got all moved in and met each other and all that good, strange stuff. That night,  after the parents have left us, and we signed our "Roommate Agreement" and answered all those sweet ice-breaker questions, we're just hanging out in the room, mentally preparing for Rush the next day, and life, the next four years.
While thinking to ourselves about living together over the next year, we hear something drop by the door. I wasn't even aware anything was hanging above the door before, so when Sarah jumped out of her chair and ran over to the object lying on the ground, I just watched for clues as to what was going on. She picks the thing up, whatever it is, and slowly turns to face me with it in her hands, mouth open in shock. She holds a little Jesus in her hands. Apparently earlier that day, she'd hung a crucifix over our door, and that night.. BAM! Gravity pulled the King down. Whats worse is that when Jesus fell, He was maimed. Sarah was holding most of Jesus' body in one hand, and the cross- with two dangling arms- in the other. We stare at Jesus for a minute, we stare at His arms for a few minutes, and then look at each other when Sarah asks "Is this a sign!?"
Neither of us knew what to do. I mean, when only Jesus' arms are dangling from the cross- do you laugh at the irony? Do you cry? Do you just throw Jesus  and His arms in the trash- or do you try to fix Him? Or is that insulting- to try to fix Jesus, maybe glue Him back to His arms or something?
Needless to say, we didn't know what the right thing to do was. So, after calling our Moms, discussing the possibilities of what this meant and questioning what to do with the body and with the arms, we come to a decision, ruling out just throwing Him away- I mean, you can't just throw Jesus in the trash! So He now resides in the bottom drawer of Sarah's desk. I think His arms live there, too.
Jesus' body, broken for us.

Anyway, we have a cross hanging now. Just a nice, simple cross. No body. No body parts. No worries.

A MOMENT IN THE LIFE.. OF TAYLOR DERR..

taylor derr:
Taylor Derr. I met this sunshiney pi phi with flaming red hair at camp in '09. We taught tennis together for like a day and she doesn't even remember it. So it's a good thing we met again the summer of 'oh10! Our friendship was destined, and it was clear as Rhettdawg had paired us with the Aussie to teach Racquet Smack-It. (Which, shorty after camp, became "Racquet Smack-Taylor") Upon request, we were Co's week 3, Lizzie McGuire week- AKA the best week of anyones life. .And the rest is history! We've been through a lot of awkward situations together and now have lots of jokes based only on Tderr and her catchy sayings, awesome PiPhi-ness, and orange eyebrows. This girl is really great and I'm really, really glad to know her.
That's so funny! ..You guys ready for the post?!

Tulsa, OK- Thursday,  August 12th:

(This was a video we left on a friends facebook wall the day after the incident.)
So.. that's it. Except for a few weeks later on August 24th, I get this really cute wall post from Taylor:

"Hey remember when we were thrown off the gator and you landed on my wrist?
Hey remember when I just went to the doctor a week and a half later and found out that it's broken with angulation so I'm gonna have a cast FOREVER?"

A MOMENT IN THE LIFE.. OF AMY SANDERS & MATT BREWER..

amy sanders:

I met Amy Sanders the summer of 2009. We were both a part of the Leadership Development Program at New Life Ranch. We quickly began exchanging sarcastic, smartask comments. A year later, while both working at NLR this summer, we were forced to be in the same small group. This was a good thing, though. Several weeks later, having established that we were both pretty cool, we requested to be co-counselors. (Week 7- International Week, anyone? Hello, Chickorian Conquistadors 4 Christ.) We united while fighting to defeat the Somalian Pirates, and now have an unbreakable bond. (AKA- 11 schmen campers.)
Amy really is one of the coolest persons I've ever met and has had such an awesome impact on my life.

Norman, OK- Tuesday, September 7th:
"I get out of botany and get on my bike to ride to the Union. Life is good, I'm happy, listening to my iPod. As I approach a turn in the sidewalk, I start to turn my handlebars, naturally. They don't turn, naturally. See bushes ahead. Prepare for impact. 3.. 2.. 1. BAM! I fly into the hands of the evil, sharp bush. What can I do but laugh along with the passerby?"

matt brewer:
Matt Brewer and I also worked at New Life Ranch this summer. Right away, I knew we'd be fast friends because of the vast amount of things we had in common: we both had to teach Racquet Smack-It, it was the first time to work at NLR for both of us, and both of us could do a pretty dang good Australian accent! (Those are  just few among MANY other things.)
But really, Matt is awesome. I'm super excited to see him again- whether that'll be in the USA or Aussie-land. (Where I can use my accent, duh!)

Australia- Sunday, August 29th:
(for the full "Brewdaddy" effect, read with your greatest australian accent..)
"On the 29th was my 21st party, you know this story is good cause it starts with a 21st party! So anyway it was just before everyone was supposed to get there and my brothers and some friends and I were throwing a frisbee and there was a soccer ball we were using, sitting on the side of the field, so I went to kick it back to where all our stuff was. Now, there was only one obstacle and that was a tap that a man was kneeling down filling his drink bottle at.
So, I kicked the ball up towards our stuff and it went straight at this guy, rolled right up to him, went through his legs and knocked his nearly filled drink bottle out of his hands, all over the ground! Whoops!
...That's about it, other than last Friday I went crazy at youth group running around and dancing in my blue rootsuit, Ranch style."

told you.. MyFriendsLifeIsAWESOME!

A MOMENT IN THE LIFE.. OF WHO?

Random,  hilarious  things happen everyday. Almost every time I talk to one of my  friends, something has happened at some point in their day that makes their life  awesome. I figured it would be just completely selfish to hear these  awesome  things, maybe even  experience  some of these  awesome  things, and not share   how awesome life is   to someone else.
